Hayley Wickenheiser - Hockey

Excellence and professionalism are words that Hayley Wickenheiser lives by. Her devotion to these two words has led Wickenheiser to become known as the greatest female hockey player of all time, a reputation she has earned by breaking and continuing to break records on the ice.

From a very young age Wickenheiser showed a fervent interest in and talent for hockey, practicing endlessly in her family’s ice rink in Saskatchewan, Canada. She soon proved that she was serious about the sport by joining a boy’s hockey league at age 8. As a teenager, Wickenheiser was chosen for the Canadian Women’s National Squad and led the team to four gold medals at the Women’s World Hockey Championships, a Silver medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics® in Nagano and a Gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

In 2003, Wickenheiser made history by becoming the first female to ever score a point in a professional hockey league while skating with the Kirkkonummi Salamat, a men’s hockey team in Finland.

Wickenheiser went on to serve as captain at the 2007 Women’s World Ice Hockey Championships, which Canada won. She is now a member of Team Mannatech and actively promotes her motto of excellence and professionalism to young athletes around the country.

“Every athlete looks for an edge in their sport, while trying to stay drug-free and healthy. I find that Mannatech products help supplement my nutrition, especially during heavy training. I especially like using EM•PACT® sports drink for pre- and post-workouts. The quality of Mannatech products is very high.”
