Gail Davidson
Do you know what it’s like to be broke? Gail Davidson does.
The single mother of four once drove her children all the way from the family home in Colorado to Florida to “see” Disney World. Gail didn’t have enough money to actually get her children into the theme park, so they enjoyed it vicariously. When traveling, the family either camped in roadside parks or slept in the car because they could not afford a motel room.
At age 50, with her children grown and starting lives of their own, Gail reached what she called her moment of true desperation. Saddled with debt and working low-paying jobs that made her fearful of her financial future, she broke down.
“I was cross-country skiing with my dog one day when I stopped on the trail and cried and cried and cried,” Gail says. “I had been broke my entire life. At the time, I was living with friends who graciously let me stay in a room in their house. Imagine that, 50 years old and not able to provide for myself. Something had to change.”
That change came one day via a telephone call from a close friend who wanted to share a business opportunity that she thought fit perfectly with Gail’s outgoing personality. When Gail learned the opportunity involved network marketing, she said ‘thanks, but no thanks.’ But the friend persevered, and Gail finally agreed to try it.
And the rest is history.
Since becoming a Mannatech independent Associate in 1995, Gail has prospered. Today she lives in a nicely appointed mountain home on a 250-acre ranch that she co-owns with 23 other families in Southwest Colorado. The financial freedom she gained from her Mannatech business has afforded Gail the opportunity to hike Switzerland, bike France, daytrip Italy and tour Africa. Best of all, she can travel throughout the United States to visit her sons whenever she chooses.
“I have plans to take my grandchildren to Disney World soon,” Gail says proudly. “And this time, we’re going in.”*
